Press Review.

Lion Cecil is not the only one …

American tourists kill more than 380 lions in Africa EVERY YEAR.

International Union for the Conservation of Nature says 600 shot annually.

International Fund for Animal Welfare: Americans kill 64 per cent of those!

“There are an estimated 30,000 lions left in Africa, meaning around two per cent of the entire population of the big cats is being killed legally by hunters every year”.

“MAILONLINE” (JULY 30, 2015) DESCRIBES THE HIDDEN REALITY BEHIND THE CASE OF WALTER PALMER :

Excerpts. “American tourists kill more than 380 lions in Africa every year, according to two conservation charities. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) estimates tourists in search of a trophy kill 600 of the big beasts annually. When combined with a report by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, which found that between 1999 and 2008 Americans brought home lion trophies amounting to 64 per cent of kills made, that gives a figure of more than 380 killed every year by American nationals (…)

The report said: ‘Of these trophies, the number imported into the U.S. in 2008 was larger than any other year in the decade studied and more than twice the number in 1999. The global director of IUCN’s Biodiversity Conservation Group, Jane Smart, told The Washington Post that the 600 figure is actually several years old and the true number is likely to be higher (…)”

PALMER’S GROUP OF HUNTER “SAFARI CLUB INTERNATIONAL”:

A LEGION OF MURDERER!

Following “Malonline” “The record book on the Safari Club International website, the group Palmer belongs to, which allows hunters to log their kills and see how they measure up to each other. The hunting group he belongs to, Safari Club International, hosts an online record book where hunters can log their kills of lions and other big game and see how they measure up with others. The website says:  ‘You can submit your score and method of kill for any species, and it will interactively show you where you would rank in the book if your entry was submitted today. The group has records of more than 2,000 lions killed and a November 2014 blog post highlights the top 10 African lions shot by members. The post says: ‘The African lion is one of the most challenging and dangerous hunts. Virtually anyone who imagines an African Safari envisions the big maned lion charging the implacable hunter shouldering his European double rifle.”
